16 Pounds Lost

Yay!! I'm on my way to the ultimate goal of losing 50 pounds!! Just 34 more to go :) Woohoo. My one month mark will be next Wednesday so ... so far so good!

I ordered something I found online called "Magic Noodles." They came in today so I of course tried it out. Hum... very hard to describe. They were clear and looked a bit rubbery. I followed the directions on how to prepare... which involved no cooking. Just rinsing in a strainer for 3-5 minutes under hot water. Then I had to dry the noodles completely!! COMPLETELY!! Or else they wouldn't turn out right and would be mushy. I added some hot marinara sauce to it (1/2 C = 9g carbs). The noodles themselves are 0g carbs!! I couldn't taste the noodles at all - all I tasted was the sauce... the problem was the texture. I'm a big texture person when it comes to my food. It felt like I was eating jelly fish noodles. Rubbery, a tad chewy, clear jelly fish noodles. I couldn't get past the texture despite the taste so I didn't eat very much of it. I can't decide if I should try it again some other time or just throw the rest away. It was a bit pricey and I got 7 packs of noodles - each pack was a single serving. Maybe I should give a pack to Ma and see if she likes it. Not everyone is as picky as I am with my food :)

I made my first payment to the IRS today. Damn fuckers! I only have 10 more payments to go and I'm home free. So that means I will still be paying on it when the next years taxes are due. Fuckers!

Hermie is thriving in it's new environment!! When it first went into the tank it wouldn't leave the top corner and now it's swimming all over - through the foliage and flowers and even sometimes sleeps (if they do sleep) inside the castle!! :) I need to take a picture and post it. I'm hooked! Jaws likes to watch it swim around and thankfully has never tried to get close enough to the tank to give little Hermie a heart attack. Can fish get heart attacks? Hum....

Punky and I are planning a big fall party this year in November. Our housewarming party was last November so we thought that would be a good time to keep it rollin. If all goes well we'll keep the tradition every year :) We have decoration ideas already in play and I'm going to think up fabulous invitations. Yay for parties!!! Of course there will be food and beverages (leaded and unleaded) for all to partake in. So much to plan for in just a couple short months. Is there a standard time frame to give out invitations? Should I wait until 2 weeks before hand... 1 month before hand... now? I have no clue. I don't want to wait too long because people might have plans by then and the more the merrier right? We're thinking a good date for the party would be November 15th. If only we could get one of those spotlights to put on our front lawn. Too tacky?
