Igloo

So it's going to be like 29 degrees tonight and guess what???? We have no heat!! It turns out since this is a new home, the gas has to work it's way through the air in the heater thingy... so J has to keep flipping this switch every few minutes to let the gas work it's way through. When the switch is flipped, the fan comes on and it sounds like it wants to work - then it shuts off again... and then you flip the switch, etc, etc, etc. Well, it's not working very well. She's been working on this thing for hours and it's still not staying on or blowing any heat out. The house warranty people said it takes a while, but for God's sake... this is ridiculous! Right now it's 68 degrees in the house - not too bad I guess. Let's just hope it doesn't get much colder. EEEKKKKK!!!!! Poor Jaws is going to have icicles coming off his nose before long.

On the brighter side, we're hosting our first dinner party this Saturday for the parents :) I'm so excited to finally have them over for dinner. I'm such a bad daughter - this will be the first time I've done this. Hopefully our fabulous meal and conversation will make up for the lateness. The menu is simple, but I think it will be nice.

• Salad
• Baked chicken
• Scalloped potatoes
• Green beans
• Pumpkin pie for desert

My co-workers AS & KB are throwing our housewarming party November 17th. YAY!! We're so excited. I actually think the cheeses will be coming. How cool is that! We're a tad nervous because we've never had a party at our house before. Well, we've never had a party anywhere we've lived before. What if we're terrible hosts? Wait..... AS & KB are the ones throwing the party, so does that mean they are the hosts? Sweet!

J's been working like mad to finish a painting she started of me years ago. Her Mom calls it a saloon painting. HA. I think it's beautiful. She was not able to get my face just right before, so she's been working to fix it. It looks soooo good now! I wish you all could see how talented she is. I think she gets better and better as the years go by. I think she will get it done before the housewarming party. When it's done I'll post a pic. You will love it :o)
