Haven't blogged in a while... I know... been busy.
Last weekend was just AWESOME!!! I took Dad's birthday off (5-2) to spend with him. We planned on going to Dewey for a car show but it wasn't until later that night... so Dad had the great idea to check out a place called Prairie Song. OMG that was the coolest place I've ever been. The owner gave us a personal tour that lasted about 2 1/2 hours and it was worth every bit of it!!! I can't imagine having that much of a vision and that much focus to accomplish something like that. Hats off to them for giving us something so amazing to witness. Loved loved loved it!!!! Thanks Dad for sharing that with me :) XO
The next day Dad, Bro, and Ma came over to help Punky and I with getting our fence posts put up. I had no clue how much work actually went in to putting a fence up... and we just put up the 4x4 panels that day. Lordy! Dad pressure washed our driveway and CLEANED MY CAR!!!!!!! :) How cool is that! Bro dug all the holes... all 11 of them... 2 feet down... with HARD clay! There is no way I could have done that. Nope... not a chance. Me and Ma went shopping for a grill and all the fixins for a cookout after a hard day's work!!! Yay!! Punky and I have our first grill! It was such an awesome day - even though we were all wore out beyond words.
And just when you think the fun was over... Dad came over the next day to help us get the land beyond our property by the pond all cleaned up. Him and Punky did more on our fence by the gate and got that butted up next to the neighbors fence to remove the gap. I can't believe these stupid fence people don't know how to match fences up. How hard is it to do your job right?? Jerks. Anyway - they had that fixed in no time and then we moved on to the chainsaw, clippers, and weed eater. :) Hack hack hack. It looks SO much better now. Punky is going to get some sod from work so we can make infinity grass :) Too cool I say. Dad agrees with me on this... it was the best weekend ever!!!
Yesterday everyone came over again to finish the fence and get the panels up. We have a fence!! It's only on the side for now... we're waiting to finish the back. We're planning on putting in a shorter, picket style fence so we can still see the pond. There's no point getting a lot by the pond if you block the view. Waiting on money for that one... maybe 3 more weeks.
Punky got most of the materials that we will need to build a deck. It's going to be 16' x 16'. Wow!! That's pretty big I think. After the back fence is up then we will start on the deck. Not that I wouldn't LOVE the help of my family again, but Punky is wanting this project to be built by just me and her. I hope we won't kill each other in the process though. Sometimes we butt heads when it comes to details and plans for things. Should be interesting :) lol
Oh.... Dad gave us some baby bushes to plant around the big ugly green box in our back yard. YAY. I'm so paranoid that they will die so I've been watering them every morning and night. I hope I don't over water them. Damn paranoia!
Punky and I have 3 new pets. Daddy goose, Mama goose, and Flower (baby goose). :) For the past few weeks I've noticed a lonesome goose in our pond. Well last weekend Ma gave me the idea that maybe it was there waiting on babies to be born or something. Makes perfect sense. Yesterday we got an up close and personal look at the little family that was created in our pond. There's only 1 baby - which we find odd. I think the turtles in the pond (we have dozens) ate the eggs or something :( All 3 of them kept coming up to our backyard - so we kept feeding them. This morning I woke up and they came again. It's like they know the sound of the screen door... when they hear it open, they make their way to our backyard for food. :) I got real close to them this afternoon. Maybe 10 feet or so. The hissing freaks me out a bit, but they haven't charged at me yet. Yay for feathery friends!! I have pics of them that I will post the next time I'm on.
